Luther grad joins WMC mental health team

Luther College graduate Claire Haedike, Psy.D., Mayo Clinic Health System psychologist, has

become a member of the behavioral health practice at WMC Decorah Clinic.

Haedike will work collaboratively with Ronald Hougen, Ph.D., Bridgette Hensley, Psy.D., Hannah Schroeher, LISW and Karen Nielsen, LMSW, to provide comprehensive care for mental health concerns and conditions.

Haedike earned her BA in Psychology from Luther College and her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University in Eagan, Minn. She went on to earn her Doctor of Psychology from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, Minn.

Haedike has expertise in psychology and her specialties include depression, anxiety, work stress, career counseling, young adults, life transitions, women's issues and relationship problems. Her varied experience of the past several years includes work as a marriage and family therapist for in the Minneapolis area for six years, college counseling, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and day-treatment programs. Haedike treats adolescents and adults, ages 16 and older.

Familiar with Northeast Iowa and the tri-state area, Haedike said, "I'm excited to return to Decorah to serve the health needs of the area."

Referring to her practice, Haedike said, "I look forward to joining with other Mayo Clinic Health System physicians in the Decorah Clinic practice to continue to expand access to behavioral health care. I am passionate about working with people to reduce burnout, and helping parents find ways of being more effective with their kids."

Haedike currently is accepting new patients at WMC.
