SDSBVI honors veterans with quilts

Dec. 11--Seven veterans received quilts of valor at the South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually ImpairedVeterans Day program in November.

The project is spearheaded by Jayne Reuer and featured the work of other quilters as a way to thank veterans for their for service, sacrifice and valor.

Quilt recipients were:

* Pastor John Hisel, U.S. Army, chaplain captain: 1970-1975.

* Roger Gardner, U.S. Army, 1950-53, Korean War veteran.

* Robert Geditz Sr., U.S. Army, 1950-53, Korean War veteran.

* Delbert H. Lunzman, U.S. Army, 1945-46, World War II veteran, Korean War Infantry: 1950-51.

* John Zilverberg, U.S. Marines, 1942-45, World War II veteran.

* Wilbert G. Schultz, U.S. Navy, 1945-46, World War II veteran.

* Dale Shelton, U.S. Army: 1944-46, World War II veteran.
