Mar. 29—Veterans and their families gathered at the Montana State Capitol on Friday for the annual Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans ceremony.

The event started with a march around the Capitol and a wreath laying at the POW/MIA memorial on the southeast lawn, after which the events resumed inside with drums and singing by the Magpie Singers.

Lt. Gov. Kristen Juras read a proclamation followed by guest speaker Kenneth Rosenbaum, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

The Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemorative Event was sponsored by the governor's office, the Montana Department of Military Affairs, The Montana Military Museum, American Legion Post #2 (Lewis & Clark Post), the Oro Fino Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Veterans Administration, organizers said.
