VIDEO: Lady Gaga reveals she has PTSD while visiting homeless LGBTQ youth

Lady Gaga revealed on Monday that she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, but said kindness saved her life.

NBC aired a segment on "Today" showing the "Born This Way" singer's recent trip to Ali Forney Center, a homeless shelter in Harlem for LGBT youth.

Lady Gaga brought gifts, including nail polish, hats, scarves and "comfy clothes" and shared her stories with the residents.

"I told the kids today that I suffer from a mental illness - I suffer from PTSD," Lady Gaga told "Today." "I've never told anyone that before, so here we are. But the kindness that's been shown to me by doctors - as well as my family and my friends - it's really saved my life."
